Located in the heart of the marshes we will find and stop in Dehesa de Abajo, a beautiful place full of acient olive trees and oaks, where can enjoy the Europe’s largest white stork. Here visitors can also observe thousands of birds in their natural habitat like the greater flamingo, red kite, marsh harrier, cattle egret, white headed duck and even the unique Spanish Imperial Eagle.

Each year, the marshes house approximately 200,000 population of more than 300 species of birds, this is why Donana is the most important natural space on the continent. This place also has the rice fields with the highest production in Spain and, due the heat and the water available that farmers pump every spring from the Guadalquivir river. An evocative village of other times in Spain where a typical atmosphere of other centuries is recreated, as if it were a journey through time with its sandy streets traveled by horses and people on foot.
We will visit it’s surroundings until we reach the famous Shrine of La Virgen del Rocío, to its hermitage of El Rocío, here more than one million people gather every year to participate in one of the most important religious pilgrimages on the planet.

We will do a circular hiking route while interpreting animal trails and learn some indigenous plant species of this natural environment.
