It was inaugurated in 1841 and it is located in the beautiful Museum square, presided over by a statue of Murillo, the work of Sabino de Medina. Opposite the Prado Museum we can see an exact replica. It is located in the old convent of La Merced Descalza, which had as illustrious resident the playwright Tirso de Molina. The building itself is already an attraction for your visit. 

It is considered for the quality of works that contains the second art gallery in Spain behind the Prado Museum and houses a tour of the Sevillian painting from the 15th to the 20th century, which is reflected in masters of the stature of Murillo, Zurbaran, Valdes Leal, etc.
