Day trip to Jerez and Cádiz from Seville
Discover the wines, history and Andalusian coastline in Jerez and Cádiz
The province of Cádiz is not only considered one of the most beautiful in Spain, but also one of the most diverse in terms of landscape. From its famous white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters to its mountain peaks covered in fir forests, which seem to have been taken from other regions of Europe. On our tour, we will explore not only its two main cities, but also the renowned wine culture of Jerez, which has contributed significantly to the international fame of this area.
After travelling through the ancient marshlands of the Guadalquivir and crossing the landscapes of the Sierra de Grazalema, home to the picturesque white villages of Andalusia, we will arrive in Jerez de la Frontera. Here we will take a short tour of the historic centre and visit one of its famous sherry wineries. Sherry is a wine with its own designation of origin in the region that has driven the city’s prosperity. During the visit, we will have the opportunity to enjoy a brief tasting before continuing our tour.
The city of Cadiz will show us its unique maritime charm, its fascinating history, its art and its exquisite cuisine. Iconic places such as the Plaza de San Juan de Dios, Cadiz Cathedral, the Barrio de la Viña neighbourhood and La Caleta beach will be part of our tour. Strolling through its streets and squares, we will gain an in-depth understanding of the history and culture of Cádiz, one of the oldest cities in Europe and the birthplace of the Spanish Constitution of 1812.
We will have time to stop for lunch at one of the typical bars or restaurants, where we can sample the renowned cuisine of Cadiz, with fresh fish and excellent wines. During the excursion there will be time for everything, including the chance to do some shopping. Before returning to Seville, we will visit one of the beaches to enjoy a last breath of fresh air.
